Sawmill Head Millwright

Responsibilities

• Supervise and lead a team of millwrights and maintenance personnel.
• Plan and oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of all sawmill machinery and equipment.
• Develop and implement maintenance strategies to increase plant reliability and performance.
• Manage budgets and forecast maintenance needs.
• Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct and oversee regular inspections and make adjustments to machinery as needed.
• Troubleshoot complex equipment breakdowns and provide guidance during critical repairs.
• Foster a collaborative and motivated team environment focused on improvement and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Millwright with leadership responsibilities, preferably in the forestry or wood products sector.
• Deep understanding of industrial machinery and mechanical systems.
• Exceptional leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to manage budgets and understand financial impacts of maintenance activities.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent mechanical and technical proficiency.
• A valid Millwright certification or equivalent professional qualification.
• Relevant training in management or a supervisory role is highly desirable.

Pay

$33.00 - $44.00 per hour, DOE.

Schedule

12-hour shift.
8-hour shift.
Day shift.
Monday to Friday.
Monday - Thursday.
