About the Role

Teltrium is seeking a Satellite Communications Systems Engineer to support advanced space communications initiatives for NASA and other government and commercial aerospace customers. This position offers the opportunity to work across the full systems engineering lifecycle, supporting the development, analysis, integration, testing, and operation of communications systems that enable critical mission success.

Candidates ranging from experienced mid-level engineers to recognized technical leaders will be considered for placement at the Systems Engineer, Senior Systems Engineer, or Lead Systems Engineer level based on qualifications, experience, and demonstrated technical expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development, assessment, and evolution of space and ground communications architectures and systems.
  • Develop, analyze, and refine system requirements, interface definitions, technical specifications, and engineering products.
  • Conduct communications systems analysis, trade studies, performance assessments, and interoperability evaluations.
  • Support integration, test, verification, validation, and mission readiness activities.
  • Evaluate RF communications systems, antenna systems, network architectures, and end-to-end communications performance.
  • Develop technical reports, engineering documentation, presentations, and recommendations for customers and stakeholders.
  • Participate in technical reviews, design assessments, and lifecycle engineering activities.
  • Collaborate with government, industry, and multidisciplinary engineering teams to resolve complex technical challenges.
  • Support spectrum management, interference analysis, frequency coordination, and related communications planning activities.
  • Identify technical risks and develop mitigation strategies to support successful mission execution.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring commensurate with experience and assigned responsibilities.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, Physics, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in satellite communications, communications systems engineering, RF engineering, aerospace systems, network engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience supporting systems engineering activities such as requirements development, architecture analysis, integration, testing, verification, and validation.
  • Knowledge of satellite communications principles, RF systems, antennas, communications networks, and system performance analysis.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • An advanced degree (M.S. or higher) is highly preferred for candidates being considered for Senior or Lead-level responsibilities.
  • Experience supporting NASA, DoD, commercial space, or other aerospace communications programs.
  • Familiarity with NASA communications networks, space communications architectures, or mission operations environments.
  • Experience performing RF analysis, interference analysis, spectrum management, or frequency coordination activities.
  • Experience leading technical efforts, mentoring engineers, or serving as a technical lead on engineering projects.
  • Experience supporting technical reviews, mission readiness reviews, and executive-level briefings.
