Primary Location: BARUCH COLLEGE Bargaining Unit No Description Of Organization The Baruch STEP Academy is an academic enrichment program focusing on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education and providing college preparation. Managed through the CUNY Research Foundation, we serve 200 middle and high school students throughout the city each year. Website: https://step.baruch.cuny.edu | Blog: https://baruchstep.wordpress.com/ | Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/baruchstep/ Position: In-Person High School Instructor Course Title: SAT Math Preparation | Schedule: 10:35am-12pm Course Description: The course will prepare upper class high school students for the math section (Geometry, Trigonometry, Algebra I and II) of the SAT. Test taking tips and strategies that will be reviewed. Summary Of Responsibilities Plan and teach original course curriculumEvaluate student and group performance Provide staff with measurable results in student learning through assessmentsMonitor and maintain student attendance recordsReassess curriculum based on student needs, interest, and understanding of materialOther duties as assigned Qualifications Required Availability for each program day from 10:30am-12pmStrong background in the subject areaExperience in a teaching capacity within subject areaExperience with designing/implementing a course curriculumHave a strong classroom management style Preferred Degree in mathematics or related subjectPrior teaching experience with high school or undergraduate studentsAbility to engage students with creative lessons and innovative teaching stylePossess good interpersonal skills with adolescents and a strong understanding of their maturity levelsEnthusiasm for the subject with flexibility in adjusting curriculum to reflect students' abilities Only candidates that submit a cover letter will be considered.
