SAP Security Senior Consultant

About the role

Markgraf Consulting is seeking an experienced SAP Security Senior Consultant to join their SAP Security and Compliance practice. This is a client-facing position with meaningful responsibility for shaping security architectures, guiding project workstreams, and mentoring junior consultants.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead SAP role design and access control strategy across multiple systems (ECC, S/4HANA, BW/4HANA, Fiori).
• Perform SoD (Segregation of Duties) analysis and remediation, leveraging SAP GRC or equivalent tools.
• Conduct user provisioning, authorization reviews, and access audits.
• Define and implement SAP security governance, standards, and documentation.
• Partner with audit teams to support SOX, ITGC, and compliance testing.
• Troubleshoot complex authorization and access issues across modules and environments.
• Collaborate with SAP Basis, Functional, and Infrastructure teams on system projects and upgrades.
• Mentor junior consultants and contribute to internal security frameworks, templates, and knowledge sharing.
• Stay current on SAP and cybersecurity trends, GRC tool capabilities, and cloud-based access models.

What You Bring

• 5+ years of hands-on SAP security experience across multiple landscapes.
• Strong understanding of SAP authorization concepts, composite and derived role design, and user administration.
• Demonstrated experience with SoD frameworks, risk analysis, and compliance reporting.
• Experience working with SAP GRC Access Control (ARA, ARM, BRM, EAM).
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate technical findings into business language.
• Proven success leading security workstreams or client engagements.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting audit remediation or compliance initiatives (SOX, GDPR, PCI-DSS).
• Familiarity with Fiori, HANA DB security, and cloud integration (Azure, GCP, AWS).
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
• Relevant SAP or security certifications (e.g., SAP Certified Technology Associate, CISA, CISSP, or Security+).
