SAP Project Manager – SAP S/4HANA Implementation

Our client is seeking an experienced SAP Project Manager to lead a major SAP S/4HANA implementation in Albany, NY. The Project Manager will serve as the primary liaison between local business stakeholders and the global Center of Excellence (COE) implementation team. The organization is currently operating on an older version of SAP ECC and is transitioning to SAP S/4HANA using an existing global template that has already been successfully implemented internationally.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end project execution for the local SAP S/4HANA implementation.
• Serve as the primary point of contact between local business stakeholders and the global SAP COE implementation team.
• Develop and manage project plans, milestones, timelines, dependencies, and key deliverables.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams across manufacturing, supply chain, procurement, warehouse management, quality, finance, and master data.
• Drive adoption and localization of the existing global SAP S/4HANA template.
• Facilitate business process harmonization and identify gaps between current-state ECC processes and the global S/4HANA template.
• Oversee SAP master data activities, including SAP Master Data Governance (MDG) and data readiness.
• Coordinate data migration activities, validation, reconciliation, and business sign-off.
• Lead test planning and execution, including System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Manage cutover planning, readiness activities, deployment coordination, and go-live execution.
• Partner with business leaders to ensure timely completion of project deliverables and decisions.
• Identify, track, and mitigate project risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies.
• Manage project status reporting, executive communications, and stakeholder updates.
• Support Organizational Change Management (OCM) and business readiness activities.
• Coordinate post-go-live stabilization and transition to ongoing support teams.

Requirements

• 10+ years of project/program management experience.
• Proven experience leading at least one complete SAP S/4HANA implementation lifecycle from planning through go-live.
• Strong SAP implementation experience within food manufacturing, CPG, or regulated manufacturing environments.

• Strong experience managing global and cross-functional implementation teams.
• Proficiency with project management tools such as JIRA, Smartsheet, and/or Microsoft Project.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, problem-solving, and leadership skills.

Qualifications

• Experience transitioning an organization from SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA.
• Experience deploying an existing global SAP template to a local business unit.
• Experience working with international/global SAP COE teams.
• Strong understanding of SAP data migration and business readiness activities.
• Experience managing complex manufacturing transformation programs.

Schedule

• 4-5 days per week onsite in Albany, NY is mandatory.
• No remote option.
• Must be local to Albany, NY or willing to relocate before the start date.
• No travel expenses/reimbursement will be provided.
• Candidates should be prepared to work onsite throughout the engagement.
