About the role
An SAP IS-U Functional Analyst bridges business process requirements with the technical SAP IS-U landscape. This role requires deep understanding of business processes, SAP configuration, and capabilities to roll out new functionality and maintain the system. The analyst acts as a subject matter expert, translating complex business needs into efficient SAP IS-U solutions.
Responsibilities
- Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams.
- Gather and collaborate with business stakeholders, system owners, and end users to define business requirements, system goals, and identify/resolve system issues.
- Manage small to medium-sized SAP enhancement projects.
- Participate in all stages of the System Development Life Cycle for SAP modifications, including:
- Planning, analysis, design, requirements definition, functional design, development, testing, implementation, and training.
- Ensuring solutions are relevant, maintainable, reasonable, and adhere to company standards.
- Reviewing User Acceptance Testing for completeness, including verifying testing proof and both positive and negative test cases.
- Verifying all documentation is updated and maintained.
- Participating in Knowledge Transfer sessions.
- Performing post-implementation reviews.
- Provide expert-level support for day-to-day activities, including:
- Performing triage on new incidents, including analysis, evaluation, and recommendations.
- Coordinating priorities with the business.
- Following up on outstanding items.
- Making configuration changes to meet business requirements.
- Collaborate closely with ABAP developers to provide clear requirements, assist with debugging, and provide robust testing scenarios.
- Propose system improvements.
- Ensure relevant documentation is updated, including:
- Business Requirements Documents.
- Requirements within the Requirements Traceability Matrix.
- Functional Specifications.
- Monitor upcoming SAP releases for enhancements that would benefit the organization.
- Provide support for storm restoration efforts.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, STEM, or a related field and 3+ years of related professional experience in SAP development or administration, systems programming, information systems development, or a closely related field.
- In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, candidates with an Associate’s degree in the aforementioned fields and at least 5+ years of related professional experience will be considered.
- A minimum of 12 months’ experience in SAP or with a regulated utility.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; ability to interact effectively with individuals at all levels.
- Willingness to work in a collaborative team environment to deliver a quality product.
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and consultative skills at a cross-functional level.
- Valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA (2023 or later).
- Experience with SAP’s IS-U solution (Industry-Specific Solution for Utilities).
- Familiarity with SAP Fiori (configuration, security, and deployment).
- Experience with SAP Customer Experience solutions (C4C).
- Knowledge of SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP).
- Exposure to SAP Joule (AI capabilities).
- Experience in a regulated utilities environment.
- Organizational Change Management experience.
- Lean Six Sigma training.

Pay
$73,000 – $171,300 per year.
