About the role
The SAP FICO Business Analyst supports Applied Medical by designing, configuring, and improving finance and controlling solutions that enable accurate financial reporting, efficient processes, and strong internal controls. The role partners with Finance and Accounting to translate business requirements into scalable solutions across SAP Finance and Controlling (FICO) and related applications.
Responsibilities
- Gather requirements and design solutions across SAP FICO; configure, test, and implement system enhancements and software change requests.
- Collaborate with global Finance and Accounting teams to document requirements and deliver designs, configurations, developments, testing, and cutover.
- Follow change control and project management processes to ensure compliant delivery and traceability of changes.
- Develop functional specifications, design documents, test scripts, and validation evidence; support data migration and issue resolution.
- Understand integration with other SAP modules including Materials Management (MM), Sales and Distribution (SD), Production Planning (PP) and HCM (Human Capital Management) to enable End-to-End processes.
- Participate in software validation activities to verify intended performance and compliance.
- Support enterprise systems and Finance business processes across multiple time zones and locations, including incident triage and root-cause analysis.
- Research emerging technologies and next generation platforms; recommend improvements that drive innovation and business value.
Requirements
- Bridges three to five years of hands-on experience implementing and configuring SAP FICO in functional and technical capacities.
- Demonstrates experience with SAP FI (General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Asset Accounting, Cash Management/Banking) and SAP CO (Cost Center Accounting, Profit Center Accounting, Internal Orders, Product Costing, and Project Systems).
- Applies knowledge of core Finance integrations with SAP MM, SAP SD, SAP GTS, and SAP PP.
- Understand integration with other SAP modules including Materials Management (MM), Sales and Distribution (SD), Production Planning (PP) and HCM (Human Capital Management) to enable End-to-End processes.
- Develops design documents, functional specifications, test scripts, and validation evidence; supports data migration and risk mitigation.
- Follows change control and project management practices to maintain compliance and traceability.
- Communicates effectively with global stakeholders and collaborates across cross-functional teams.
- Stays current on relevant software technologies and recommends solutions that drive innovation and business value.
- Applies knowledge of SAP Business Planning and Consolidation (BPC) and/or OneStream.
Preferred
- Bridges experience with vendor invoice management applications such as OpenText Vendor Invoice Management (VIM) or equivalent.
- Demonstrates integration experience with SAP Concur for travel and expense processes.
- Holds SAP FICO certification or equivalent credentials.
- Applies external tax solutions such as Thomson Reuters ONESOURCE or equivalent.
- Contributes to software validation activities and documentation in regulated environments.
- Experience with integration with SAP Success factors.
