SAP CPI Consultant

Role Summary

The SAP CPI Consultant is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining integrations between SAP and non-SAP systems using SAP Cloud Platform Integration (CPI) as part of the SAP Integration Suite. The role ensures secure, scalable, and reliable data exchange across cloud and on-premise landscapes.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy integration flows (iFlows) using SAP CPI
• Integrate SAP solutions such as S/4HANA, ECC, AWS, Snowflake, Concur, and third-party applications
• Develop integrations using SOAP, REST, OData, IDoc, RFC, SFTP, JMS, and file-based adapters
• Implement message mappings, content modifiers, value mappings, and exception handling
• Manage security artifacts including certificates, keystores, OAuth, PGP, and user roles
• Perform monitoring, troubleshooting, and tuning of integration flows
• Apply SAP integration best practices and enterprise integration patterns
• Work with functional and technical teams to gather requirements and translate them into integration designs
• Create and maintain technical documentation (integration specs, mappings, interface catalogs)
• Support deployments across DEV / QA / PROD landscapes

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong hands-on experience with SAP CPI / SAP Integration Suite
• Proficiency in Groovy scripting for CPI extensions
• Patterns like Sync/Async, Pub/Sub, Batch vs Real Time, Splitter, Multicast
• Solid understanding of SAP middleware concepts and integration architecture
• Expertise in SAP API Management
• Knowledge of API-led integration and event-driven patterns
• Experience connecting cloud-to-cloud, cloud-to-on-prem, and hybrid landscapes
• Cloud Connector SAP & Integration Knowledge
• Understanding of SAP business objects (e.g., IDocs, BAPIs)
• Exposure to SAP Process Orchestration (PI/PO) migration (strongly preferred)
• Experience Level 5 10 years of SAP integration experience
• 3+ years hands-on SAP CPI / Integration Suite development
• Experience in S/4HANA Transformation Or Cloud Migration Projects
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to collaborate with functional, security, and infrastructure teams
• Clear communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple integrations concurrently
• SAP CPI or Integration Suite certification
• Experience with BTP services (API Management, Open Connectors, Event Mesh)
• Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD, and transport management in SAP BTP
