SAP Business Technology Platform Developer

About the role

The position is listed on behalf of a partner company managing all applications and next steps. The partner is seeking a SAP Business Technology Platform Developer based in the United States. This role involves designing and delivering modern SAP cloud solutions that extend enterprise platforms and drive digital transformation.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop side-by-side extensions and standalone applications on SAP Business Technology Platform using SAP Cloud Application Programming Model (CAP) with Node.js and/or Java.
• Build modern, responsive user interfaces using SAP Fiori, SAPUI5, and SAP Fiori elements.
• Develop and consume OData v2/v4 services for seamless integration with SAP backend platforms and third-party systems.
• Implement secure authentication and authorization solutions using XSUAA, SAP Identity Authentication Service (IAS), and SAP Identity Provisioning Service (IPS).
• Deploy, operate, and optimize applications running on SAP BTP Cloud Foundry and Kyma environments.
• Leverage SAP BTP services across application development, integration, workflow, business rules, data management, and analytics.
• Develop event-driven solutions using SAP Event Mesh and SAP Advanced Event Mesh.
• Support AI and machine learning use cases through SAP AI Core, SAP AI Launchpad, and integrations with external AI platforms.
• Apply SAP clean-core principles by minimizing backend modifications and isolating custom functionality within BTP extensions.
• Configure and manage CI/CD pipelines using SAP Continuous Integration & Delivery, Project Piper, GitHub Actions, or similar tools.
• Collaborate with enterprise architects, functional teams, and integration specialists to align solutions with SAP architecture standards.
• Provide post-launch support, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and incident resolution.
• Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including architecture designs, configuration details, operational procedures, and support documentation.

Requirements

• Strong SAP development experience with expertise in SAP Business Technology Platform, cloud application development, and enterprise integration.
• Significant hands-on experience with SAP BTP, including CAP using Node.js and/or Java.
• Hands-on development experience with SAP Fiori and SAPUI5.
• Solid understanding of OData service design, development, and consumption.
• Experience working with SAP BTP runtimes, including Cloud Foundry and/or Kyma.
• Knowledge of SAP security services such as XSUAA, IAS, and IPS.
• Experience implementing CI/CD processes and modern DevOps practices.
• Strong understanding of SAP S/4HANA extension approaches and clean-core principles.
• Experience with SAP Integration Suite, SAP Cloud Platform Integration, workflow solutions, or business rules.
• Familiarity with SAP AI Core, SAP AI Launchpad, or hyperscaler AI integrations.
• Experience designing multi-tenant SaaS applications on SAP BTP.
• SAP BTP developer certifications are highly desirable.
• Excellent communication, documentation, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
