Job Summary
A leading utility services organization based in Orange, CT is seeking a seasoned technology leader to guide their SAP S4HANA enterprise resource planning transformation. The role involves leading a multi-year digital modernization effort, designing scalable environments, and navigating critical software licensing negotiations.
Responsibilities
Lead the technical vision and structural design for enterprise-grade billing, customer service, and data management platforms.
Serve as the principal technical authority during a comprehensive 42-month SAP S4Hana system migration, ensuring smooth deployments across three major rollout phases.
Partner cross-functionally with business stakeholders and IT groups to transform complex operational needs into secure, high-performing technical blueprints.
Navigate high-level vendor relationships, driving crucial software licensing discussions and evaluating emerging technologies for proof-of-concept initiatives.
Champion the seamless integration of hybrid, on-premises, and cloud-based environments, focusing on connecting core financial systems with customer-facing applications.
Establish rigorous governance frameworks to optimize system performance, minimize technical debt, and ensure strict compliance with regulatory standards.
Mentor internal agile teams and engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.
Qualifications
Must-have qualifications:
Legal authorization to work in the US on a W2 basis
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline
At least 10 years of progressive enterprise systems experience
Extensive hands-on expertise architecting and implementing modern enterprise resource planning platforms, with at least one full-cycle implementation of advanced, next-generation SAP S4 Hana under your belt
Proven capability in leading vendor evaluations, managing complex software licensing agreements, and influencing senior executive stakeholders
Deep understanding of system governance, performance tuning, and hybrid cloud integration methodologies
Nice-to-have qualifications:
Prior background supporting industry-specific operational workflows, particularly within the energy or utilities sector (e.g., automated billing, meter-to-cash, or device management pipelines)
Master's degree in a relevant technical or business field
Active certifications in enterprise architecture or related technology solutions
