Sanitizer - Truck Wash

About the role

The Sanitizer position at Smithfield involves cleaning interiors and exteriors of company vehicles to meet biosecurity standards. This role requires a high level of physical labor and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Washes and sanitizes trucks and trailers.
• Cleans interiors and exteriors of cars and pickup trucks as required.
• Maintains washing equipment by cleaning and storing it properly.
• Fulfills safety requirements of the Injury Prevention System (IPS).
• Adheres to company policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Works collaboratively with the sanitation lead person.
• Assists with facility and equipment maintenance.
• Complies with environmental, biosecurity, and safety laws and procedures.
• Reports environmental issues promptly to supervisors.
• Assists with grounds and facility upkeep tasks such as cutting grass, taking out trash, and cleaning inside and outside the facility.
• Understands and complies with the company’s emergency notification process.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
• Strong commitment to teamwork.
• Ability to follow instructions and deal with standardized situations.
• Willingness to work an average 60-hour week, including weekends and evenings.
• Ability to operate a tractor trailer and back trailers.
• Positive attitude and ability to build strong working relationships.
• Respectful, approachable, and team-oriented behavior.

Physical Demands

• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 lbs.
• Frequent standing, walking, using hands to handle or feel, reaching with hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
• Talk or hear.

Work Environment

• Fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• May require occasional overtime and weekend work.
