Sanitation Worker

About the role

The Sanitation Technician performs operations including general cleaning and sanitation of production areas, clean-in-place (CIP) and clean-out-of-place (COP) equipment, exterior of building, and other assigned areas.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning procedures required by the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS) and other duties to maintain assigned areas sanitary and clean (e.g., floor drains, hand wash sinks, overheads, production trash cans, floors, walls, ceilings, air vents, lights, ledges, beams, plant equipment, and exterior of all equipment).
• Complete, maintain, and review daily and weekly area cleanliness and other reports.
• Maintain safe working conditions and comply with all state and federal health and safety regulations.
• Ensure all chemical containers have proper and legible labels.
• Follow all DFA good manufacturing practices (GMP) and work in a manner consistent with corporate regulatory, food safety, quality, sanitation, and safety requirements; report any nonconformity.
• Exhibit the values and ethics of Dairy Farmers of America through honesty, discretion, and sound judgment.
• Attend required training, including Safety, GMP, Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP), and Safe Quality Foods (SQF).
• Work schedule may include on-call and weekend shifts.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
• One to three years of sanitation or related experience.

Skills

• Knowledge of plant operations and ability to operate plant equipment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work effectively on a team and follow instructions.
• Ability to perform tasks under general supervision.
• Proficiency in standard math.
• Clear and effective communication in English, both verbally and in writing.

Schedule

Monday - Friday, (5) 8-hour shifts. Day Shift and Evening Shift available.

Pay

$19/hr.
