Responsibilities
- Ensure all production equipment is properly cleaned and that the facility meets all Food Regulatory Standards.
- Detail cleaning of processing equipment including production utensils, tanks, conveyors, overhead pipes, cooling units, walls, floors, drains, ceiling, etc.
- Maintain outside waste area and perimeter.
- Use the 7 steps to effectively wet wash during cleaning to maintain Food Safety and Pest Control.
- Comply with all company and quality policies and chemical and safety procedures.
- May be required to assemble and disassemble processing equipment.
- Work in a timely manner to return production areas and equipment back to production.
- Able to communicate problems or concerns with appropriate personnel.
- Wear all proper protective equipment during sanitation cleaning process.
- Able to learn equipment systems or use HMI screens to stop, start, and purge equipment.
- Able to safely use sanitation chemicals (soaps, sanitizers, acids) and understand Safety Data Sheets (SDS), GMPs, food safety standards, sanitation procedures, and standard cleaning methods.
- Knowledge of sanitation equipment and tools, including but not limited to, Lockout/Tagout procedures and safe practices when working around moving machinery.
- Willingness to learn, follow safety protocols and adapt to change in a team-based environment.
- Strong oral and written communication, organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions and follow instructions.
- Reliable attendance and schedule flexibility, including potential shift changes, weekends, and overtime as needed.
Requirements
- High School/GED or one to two years’ experience in related field or combination of both education and experience.
- May be required to become certified in forklift, scissor lift, boom lift, or electric pallet jack certification.
Physical Demands
- Must be able to lift and/or carry up to 50 lbs. in an occasional manner.
- Must be able to grasp with fingers and hand for extended periods of time in a repetitive motion.
- Must be able to use 3-points of contact when climbing or descending stairs.
- Must be able to stoop, bend at knees, and/or crouch in a repetitive manner.
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to work in environmental exposure including, but not limited to, freezer and noisy, cold, wet, or humid conditions of 34°F or below.
- Occasional exposure to fumes, airborne particles, toxic, and/or caustic chemicals.
- Occasional material exposure to moving mechanical parts and equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.).
Hours & Workdays
3rd Shift – 7:00pm to 3:30am; Weekends, overtime, holidays, and/or rotating shift and day off schedules may be mandatory based on business and departmental needs.
