Responsibilities
- Maintain the store's cleanliness and safety, including floors, windows, break rooms, and restrooms.
- Maintain department hand wash sinks with paper towels, soap, and sanitizer.
- Clean and pick up trash and debris from flower beds and the yard around the store.
- Use the H-E-B chemical program and correctly organize/maintain stock in the maintenance room.
- Empty and clean trash receptacles throughout the store and each department.
- Ensure food safety and sanitation standards are met by following SOPs.
- Communicate maintenance needs, problems, or solutions to store leaders.
- Assist customers with their needs and help locate products.
- Perform duties of a Customer Service Assistant (CSA) when needed.

Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older.
- High school diploma or GED (or equivalent).
- Knowledge of OSHA guidelines.
- Customer service-oriented with the ability to prioritize competing tasks.
- Ability to take initiative and work independently.
- Completion of company orientation, in-store orientation, Basics of Safety, Annual Food Handler, and basic HAZMAT/Chemical Safety certifications (upon hire).
Skills
- Sacking skills.
- Ability to work with customers and attend to their needs.
Physical Demands & Working Conditions
- Constantly: walk, reach at waist, grasp, push/pull with arms (5.5+ hours per 8-hour day).
- Frequently: bend (2.5–5.5 hours per 8-hour day).
- Occasionally: sit, stand, reach overhead/shoulder/knee/floor, stoop, squat, crouch, kneel, climb stairs/ladders, pivot, twist, pinch, perform fine motor movements (0–2.5 hours per 8-hour day).
- Occasionally exposed to cold, ambient temperatures, loud noise, and wet conditions.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs; must ask for assistance or break down heavy items if beyond safe lifting limits.
