About the role
The position is responsible for maintaining food surfaces, processing equipment, and the assigned work area in a sanitary condition that meets food quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Follow safe work practices and procedures, including Standard Operating Procedures and company policies, to prevent injuries to self or others.
- Record chemical usage on the Chemical Log.
- Safely transport chemicals using a hand cart to and from the chemical room.
- Complete cleaning duties on a regular basis.
- Perform periodic testing and documentation of foaming and sanitizing solutions in the central foaming tank.
- Assist with training to ensure proper sanitation practices.
- Maintain and complete OSHA forklift truck certificates.
- Attend and participate in training activities relevant to the position.
- Comply with company policies.
- Collaborate with team members and support groups using a participative management style aligned with operational goals.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Ability to stand on concrete floors for long periods.
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
- Ability to work in confined spaces.
- Ability to distinguish colors.
- Ability to work in extreme environments: noise, hot, cold, wet, and slick floors.
- Ability to work with and around hazardous chemicals while wearing appropriate PPE (full wetsuit, boots, chemical gloves, face shield, or goggles).
- Manual dexterity in both hands to turn valves, use high-pressure hoses, and carry buckets filled with water and chemicals.
- Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of push/pull force to move barrels weighing up to 450 lbs. using a rolling device.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to maneuver in close quarters, at heights, and climb stairs and ladders.
