Sanitation Technician - 3rd Shift

Responsibilities

• Perform daily cleaning of raw processing departments and weekly (Sunday) cleaning of finished processing and packaging departments.
• Meet company and USDA specifications by cleaning and sanitizing machines to ensure morning production crews can start on time.
• Prioritize, plan, and move quickly and steadily through sanitation duties.
• Lift 25–50 lbs. as needed.
• Spray machine parts and equipment with cleaners, sanitizers, and hoses.
• Mix cleaning solutions, abrasive compositions, and other compounds according to formulas.
• Mix and dispense hand sanitizers.
• Pre-soak or rinse machine parts or equipment by immersing objects in cleaning solutions or water.
• Inspect parts and equipment for cleanliness, damage, and compliance with standards or regulations.
• Perform lock-out tag-out on machines when working on and cleaning them.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months to 1 year of sanitation experience with large manufacturing equipment preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
• Perform physical work including climbing stairs, pulling hoses, etc.
• Work in various-temperature environments.
• Handle heavy objects safely and with proper body mechanics; frequently lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. and routinely maneuver objects up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to frequently talk, hear, and smell.
• Ability to frequently reach with hands and arms; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
• Vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Work environment includes hazardous machinery, materials, chemicals, wet floors, high voltage, hot water, and steam.

Pay

$20.00 per hour, plus $1.00 per hour shift differential for working 3rd shift.

Schedule

3rd Shift, 5 days per week, 8 hours per shift (10:15 pm – 6:30 am), with occasional overtime up to 12 hours a day as needed.
