About the Role

Sanitation Team Members are responsible for keeping equipment sanitized in preparation for production. They will use the best techniques for cleaning machines around the plant floor while following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) training, company pre-requisite programs, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), USDA Guidelines, and Standard Sanitation Operating Procedures (SSOPs).

Responsibilities

• Clean facilities and equipment in proper sequence and in a timely manner to enable pre-op inspection and set-up for a successful start-up.
• Apply chemicals for cleaning, degreasing, and sanitizing using sprayers and hoses.
• Perform hot water wash downs (120-140 degrees) and cold water wash downs for all plant equipment, floors, and walls.
• Clean equipment parts, overheads, units, pipes, lights, smokehouses, breakrooms, and bathrooms.
• Gather trash in carts and transport it to the trash compactor for disposal.
• Squeegee floors and clean drains in the plant area.
• Cover sensitive equipment with plastic for protection.
• Follow the daily sanitation schedule and achieve specified goals.
• Complete the Master Cleaning Schedule to ensure all facility areas are cleaned regularly.
• Use the proper chemical for each job at the specified concentration.
• Complete pre-inspections prior to FSQ (Quality) pre-operation inspections to minimize deficiencies.
• Assist with re-assembly of machines for start-up.
• Suggest improvements to continuously enhance the quality and efficiency of support activities.
• Perform other duties as necessary.

Safety

• Perform all duties within OSHA and company safety standards, including LOTO (Lock-Out Tag-Out) procedures.
• Wear PPE and maintain safety equipment.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
• Immediately report all incidents and deficiencies to the lead/supervisor.
• Ensure safety devices are installed and working properly.
• Handle equipment and chemicals according to government, SDS (Safety Data Sheets), and company safety standards.

Requirements

• Preferred Education: High School Diploma or GED.
• Preferred Experience: Cleaning or chemical sanitation experience/training or equivalent within a manufacturing food industry facility.

Skills

• Ability to follow detailed, written, and verbal instructions.
• Able to organize and prioritize in a multi-tasking environment.
• Understanding of Chemical & Lock-Out Tag-Out procedures and policies.
• Basic math skills (addition and subtraction of two-digit numbers).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; must work effectively with all levels of management and team members.

Pay

Starting pay is $19.50 per hour with a $1.00 shift differential. The pay range for this role is $18.75 - $25.54 per hour, depending on factors such as external market data, internal equity, location, and candidate skill set and experience.

Schedule

Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM.
