About the role

Food Production - Sanitation Labor position at the Hickman Rd Plant (formerly Williams Sausage Company) in Union City, TN. This is a full-time role with a starting pay of $18.30/hour, plus a $2/hour shift premium for 3rd shift.

Responsibilities

• Picks up meat scraps and bones and disposes of in offal trailer.
• Picks up loose trash and disposes of in garbage truck.
• Cleans equipment and plant with high pressure hoses and cleaning chemicals.
• Acts as key trainer for on-the-job training of new team members.
• Maintains and promotes team member interest in safety, including reporting unsafe practices to supervisors.
• Promotes company culture of respect and notifies plant manager of any conduct violations.
• Follows oral instructions and demonstrates manual dexterity for cleaning equipment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Ability to perform heavy manual work continuously over an extended period.
• Must be willing and able to lift up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Knowledge of safety and lock-out procedures for equipment is preferred.
• Knowledge of proper handling of cleaning chemicals is preferred.
• Must adhere to personal protective equipment requirements: steel-toed work boots, ear plugs, hair net, hard hat, beard net (if applicable), and smock.
• Cell phones and jewelry are not permitted on the factory floor.

Working Conditions

Normal for a manufacturing environment. Work may involve exposure to cleaning chemicals, high-pressure hoses, and lifting materials up to 50 pounds.

Pay

$18.30/hour, with a $2/hour shift premium for 3rd shift.
