About the role
The Sanitation Associate will play a key role in ensuring Ornua delivers safe and high-quality products by cleaning production and packaging areas during 1st and 3rd shifts. This position adheres to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and maintains a safe work environment.
Responsibilities
- Clean equipment and work areas using chemical cleaning solutions, hand tools, and pressurized sanitation equipment.
- Inspect sanitation work and follow up as necessary to ensure compliance with GMPs and safety standards.
- Perform duties according to GMPs, including food, equipment, and operating safety requirements.
- Complete necessary cleaning and workplace sanitation tasks.
- Support work in all areas as needed.
- Record production information on tablets, computers, or by hand.
- Communicate with management regarding equipment, food safety, quality, and safety issues.
- Assist in inventory of chemicals, cleaning supplies, and parts.
- Perform additional job duties as required.
Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs and perform repetitive motions.
- Willingness to work in a food manufacturing environment with variable temperatures.
- Basic math skills.
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and food safety standards.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Solid work history.
- Prior food manufacturing experience.
Physical Demands
- Regular standing, walking, bending, twisting, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 60 pounds.
- Safety and quality procedures must be followed.
Working Environment
- Variable temperatures in cooler warehouse areas and warmer production zones.
- Exposure to moving equipment, moderate to loud noise levels, and required use of PPE.
