Sandwich Maker

About the role

Flour Bakery + Cafe is looking for exceptional sandwich makers to join our growing team. This is a great position for experienced line cooks or prep cooks. As a sandwich maker, you'll prepare sandwiches with speed and accuracy while engaging with guests and delivering excellent hospitality.

Responsibilities

• Follow assembly instructions and recipes accurately and thoroughly to ensure each sandwich is consistently delicious.
• Deliver consistently great hospitality: greet guests with a smile, treat them with kindness, and find correct answers to any questions they may have.
• Work in a professional open-kitchen environment as part of a team.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of previous experience in a fast-paced food service environment.
• Availability to work at least 3-4 shifts (20 hours) per week, including at least 1 weekend day.
• Ability to stand for long periods, walk, sit, push, pull, reach, and lift up to 50 lbs without assistance.
• Ability to operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, grills, knives, and utensils.
• Maintain proper grooming and uniform standards.
• Minimum commitment of 1 year for the Sandwich Maker position (no seasonal or temporary work).

Work Environment

• Physically active role requiring you to be on your feet all day.
• Work in an environment with loud noises, machinery, and tight spaces.
• Exposure to fluctuating temperatures (e.g., freezers, hot kitchens) and various aromas.
• While we avoid cross-contamination, gluten may be present in the air.

Pay

Starting base wage: $15 per hour. Total compensation averages $20–$24 per hour, including a base wage of $15 plus $5–$9 per hour in pooled tips. The total pay range is $15–$19.86.
