AHF Products, a leading hard surface flooring manufacturer in the USA, has an opportunity for a Sander Operator in Beverly, WV. Reporting to the Finish Line Production Supervisor, this role is key to ensuring flooring is sanded to specifications for a quality finish and maintaining sander efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain good attendance record
  • Perform and schedule sander maintenance as required
  • Ensure all counters function properly
  • Verify flooring specifications and document data
  • Complete lineal, quality, and downtime sheets hourly
  • Change sanding paper as needed
  • Maintain housekeeping and 5S standards in the Finish Line area
  • Meet daily production numbers and run footage requirements
  • Use calipers and micrometers
  • Operate and maintain multiple pieces of equipment
  • Practice safe work habits
  • Communicate effectively with co-workers
  • Work different shifts as needed

Requirements

  • General knowledge of sander operation
  • General maintenance ability
  • Ability to perform preventive maintenance correctly and on time
  • Effective communication skills (speaking, writing, active listening, taking instruction)
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and commitment to a safe work environment
  • Ability to work effectively in a team
  • Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to follow established policies and procedures
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Willingness to work core hours supporting business needs

Physical Demands

  • Occasionally push, pull, carry, and lift up to 50 pounds
  • Frequent walking, standing, stretching, bending, climbing, stooping, twisting, reaching, grasping, and repetitive movements
  • Frequent talking, hearing, reading, writing, and comprehending English
  • Frequent visual acuity at 20/20 (with prescriptive lenses if needed)
  • Frequent reading and communication (spoken and written)
  • Frequent work in non-temperature-controlled environments
  • Frequent work near moving mechanical parts
  • Frequent exposure to moderate noise (up to 83 decibels)
  • Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
  • Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles
  • Frequent exposure to extreme heat, vibration, wet/humid conditions, and high or precarious places
