As a Night Stocker, you'll become part of a highly-functioning team in the Grocery or Drug Store department, working overnight to meet common goals and maintain a well-stocked, organized store. This role offers learning opportunities across multiple products and departments, serving as a foundation for career growth at H-E-B.
Responsibilities
- Stock shelves, refill displays, and load/unload heavy or bulky products; may unload trucks.
- Condition shelves and products, ensuring proper rotation dates and label information to meet A+ Standards.
- Maintain a clean and well-organized department, including back rooms and shelves.
- Follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and leader direction with personal discipline.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and company regulations for product food safety and sanitation.
- Work efficiently and collaboratively with a team mindset to meet nightly productivity goals.
- Accept and apply constructive feedback to improve performance on future tasks.
- May train or coach other Stockers.
- Assist customers in locating products and answer product-related questions.
- Build relationships across departments (e.g., Curbside) and work cross-functionally within the store.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Experience in stocking and customer service is preferred.
- Experience in physically demanding roles is a plus.
- Ability to understand and apply SOPs, including emergency procedures and proper stocking techniques.
- Strong communication, reading, and writing skills.
- Excellent organization and time-management skills.
- Customer service orientation with a team-focused mindset.
- Ability to perform repetitive, physical tasks, including heavy lifting (see Physical Demands for details).
- Agility and ability to think quickly while managing multiple priorities and shifting focus between tasks.
- Willingness to work overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays.
