About the role

H-E-B Store Department Lead - Leads a well-stocked, well-maintained department, provides superior customer service, performs supervisory responsibilities, trains and develops Partners, and assists with inventory control.

Responsibilities

• Store Lead Operations / Training: May serve as backup to Department Manager and typically works opposite shift to Manager. Helps prepare department work schedules.
• Serves as backup to Department Manager and typically works opposite shift to Manager.
• Assists with inventory control; loads, unloads, and moves product.
• Trains Partners; directs work; addresses complaints; resolves issues; builds / follows up on production plans and their execution.
• Assists in all technical areas, as needed.
• Performs Representative / Specialist duties frequently.

Qualifications & Key Requirements

• Work Experience: 6+ months of related experience and / or training, or Required Combination of equivalent education / training.
• Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Expert knowledge of department production stations, including quality standards, set-up, operation, cleaning, and maintenance of all equipment.
• Required Ability to read and interpret documents (e.g., safety rules, operating / maintenance instructions, production planners, procedure manuals).
• Required Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Required Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or Partners.
• Required Ability to apply common sense / understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Required Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Required Communication and interpersonal skills.
• Required Education: Associate’s Degree (AA), or equivalent from two-year college or technical school or 6+ months of related experience and / or training, or combination of equivalent education / training.
• Required Licenses/Certifications: Completion of Company Orientation, Food safety and sanitation training, eCommerce Online Ordering training, Ability to complete Texas Nursery & Landscape Association training H-E-B internal training.
