Sample Management Technician

Job Summary

The Hayward, CA laboratory of SGS is seeking a Sample Management Technician to manage sample IDs and tests accurately using Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).

Job Functions

• Receive and document samples and COCs to ensure sample integrity.
• Create bottle records, generate labels, and label samples.
• Transfer samples between cold and ambient storage areas.
• Maintain all required documentation with accuracy and clarity.
• Remove historical samples from completed jobs and assign samples for disposal.
• Communicate with laboratory departments and clients regarding sample information.
• Answer telephone inquiries, request bottleware, volumes, and courier pickups.
• Pickup client samples as courier.
• Assist various laboratories with sample preparation (as needed).

Qualifications

• High School Diploma
• Experience in an environmental laboratory (preferred)
• Associate degree in a science-related field (preferred)
• Proficient English language skills
• Basic mathematical and reasoning skills
• Strong customer service skills
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to lift/carry/push and/or pull upwards of 50 lbs on a constant basis
