Sample Control Technician I / Courier - Environmental Laboratories

A Day in the Life

• Drives the company vehicle to transport supplies and samples between Onterris Orange and Anaheim locations for processing
• Receives environmental samples into the laboratory according to SOPs
• Performs data entry and login of sample and test information into Laboratory Information System (LIMS)
• Labels sample containers and equipment, store them in appropriate locations and/or contact the proper department to inform them of short holding time and/or rush requests
• Aids in sample bottle preparation/equipment prep, sample management/archiving and disposal, and focused on daily pickups/deliveries to ensure smooth transport between sites
• Maintains the company vehicle in optimal condition
• Occasional operation of a forklift
• Participates in focus teams to improve efficiency
• Comply with Company’s Quality Assurance Program
• Comply with Company’s Health and Safety Plan
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Laboratory experience is preferred
• Valid driver's license
• Able to move and carry up to 50 lbs
• Able to remain in a stationary position for the duration of shift while performing frequent routine tasks
• Driving record that meets the company's requirements for operating company vehicles
• Forklift experience preferred, or willingness to learn and successfully complete company-provided forklift training and certification within the first 30 days of employment

Skills

• Knowledge of general lab practices and lab safety
• Able to multi-task and communicate effectively (both oral and written)
• Able to work independently and make sound decisions
• Well organized and have an attention to detail

Work Environment And Physical Requirements

• Sitting, standing, and walking
• Must be able to work in a stationary position for entire shift duration
• Lifting, moving, and carrying up to 50 lbs
• Works in an office, laboratory and/or warehouse environment
• Ability to safely operate a forklift (certification required)
• Ability to climb on and off forklift
