About the role

Logs and tracks the receipt and shipment of all samples into and out of the Service Center. Assists in preparing bottle kits for client delivery, ensuring accurate documentation of sample log-in, labeling, and routing. Determines sample priority and testing procedures according to Chain of Custody, and labels/stores samples per documented procedures. May perform sample pick-up/delivery, courier duties, and customer service tasks. Responsible for proper disposal of samples and waste in compliance with applicable procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Receives and unloads incoming samples or consignments per DOT regulations, verifying receipt against Chain of Custody (COC) and noting discrepancies daily.
  • Verifies COC accuracy, completeness, and correctness; resolves discrepancies.
  • Logs samples into Lab Management System daily to assign lot numbers and distributes paperwork to Project Managers.
  • Labels samples for identification by lot number and delivers them to appropriate labs for analysis.
  • Prepares bottle kits daily for client sample collection, adhering to EPA and DOT requirements.
  • Forwards samples to other laboratories per DOT regulations for tests not performed locally.
  • Disposes of spent samples, waste, and hazardous materials according to established procedures.
  • Monitors freezer and cooler temperatures daily to ensure compliance with SOP guidelines.
  • Cleans and organizes the department daily to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Maintains safety and environmental compliance in all operations.
  • Stocks and manages inventory to ensure adequate supplies.
  • Performs splits and composites as requested.
  • May perform courier duties, including non-routine sampling and delivery during non-business hours.
  • Assists in maintaining walk-in coolers for sample organization.
  • Ships empty coolers back to clients and other Eurofins laboratories, logging all outgoing coolers for inventory tracking.
  • Maintains company vehicles used for sample pickups and deliveries.
  • Conducts client interactions professionally.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned by local management.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Department of Transportation (DOT) Certificate may be required within 90 days of hire for shipping hazardous chemicals.
  • Valid state-issued driver’s license to operate company vehicles.
  • Ability to pass a Motor Vehicle background check for company driver certification.
  • Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card and TSA clearance may be required within 90 days of hire.
  • Additional client or location licenses/certifications may be required.
  • Willingness to drive up to 8 hours per day and be on-call during non-business hours for non-routine tasks.

Schedule

Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with overtime as needed.

Compensation range: $16–$20 per hour, based on experience.
