About the role

SmartStyle Hair Salon, operated by Yellowhammer Salon Group (YSG), is the largest operator of this brand in the United States with over 75 full-service salons inside Walmart stores across 11 states. Salons are located in the world's busiest marketplace, with an average of 5,000 customers per day (150,000 per month, 1.8 million per year) walking by the front door, providing instant clientele.

Responsibilities

• Lead and motivate the salon team to achieve sales goals and provide outstanding customer service
• Deliver exceptional customer service while providing the full range of hair care services to clients
• Consistently exhibit and develop technical competence
• Manage inventory control, ensuring that stock levels are maintained and orders are placed as needed
• Ensure the salon schedules meet the needs of the business
• Implement marketing strategies to promote salon services and attract new clients
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment for both clients and staff
• Train staff on best practices for customer service, product knowledge, and sales techniques
• Manage and control expenses

Qualifications

• Valid and current cosmetology license (required)
• Previous experience in a leadership role within a salon or similar environment preferred
• Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage clients and staff alike
• A passion for the beauty industry and staying updated on trends and techniques
• Ability to provide exceptional customer service and consistently perform quality services
• A team player with strong leadership qualities
• Ability to multitask and work at a fast pace while demonstrating good judgment and time management skills
• Communicate effectively with salon team, peers, supervisors, Walmart staff, vendors, and customers
• Ability to read and analyze various salon reports

Pay

• Earn up to 60% commission on services
• Earn up to 25% commission on retail sales
• Eligibility for weekly bonuses

Schedule

• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Position may require working alone in the salon
