This posting combines two roles: Salesperson and Store Driver. Both positions can be part-time or full-time.

About the Role

Entry-level positions supporting either the DIY business or commercial parts delivery. Both roles require basic automotive and parts knowledge, store system familiarity, and the ability to maintain store inventory and operational standards.

Salesperson Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent selling experience for DIY customer visits and phone calls
  • Achieve personal and store sales goals
  • Provide DIY services including battery installation, testing, and wiper installs
  • Maintain store product and operational standards
  • Manage inventory processes including truck put away, shoot outs, cycle counts, and back stock

Store Driver Responsibilities

  • Safely deliver parts to commercial customers
  • Pick and stage parts for customer orders
  • Pick up returns and cores
  • Drop off weekly/monthly sales flyers
  • Perform daily collection of credit accounts

Secondary Responsibilities (Both Roles)

  • Maintain store cleanliness including floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting, and parking lot
  • General stocking including truck stocking and back stock

Essential Job Skills

  • Speak and write English (Spanish a plus); communicate effectively and build strong relationships with customers, peers, and management
  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, parts catalogs, and procedure manuals
  • Use basic math accurately: add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to work an assortment of days, evenings, and weekends as needed

Qualifications

  • For Salesperson: 2-3 years of successful sales experience in a diverse retail environment, providing superior customer experiences
  • For Store Driver: Automotive parts experience preferred
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and be fleet safety certified (Store Driver role and Salesperson role if fleet-certified)

Physical Demands

  • Predominantly walking or standing
  • Must be able to talk, hear, and use hands/fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

Work Environment

  • Primarily indoors, with occasional outdoor tasks (e.g., installing batteries and wiper blades) in various weather conditions
  • Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, high/precarious places, toxic/caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, explosives, and vibration
  • Moderate noise level
