Salesperson/Store Driver Store 9172

This posting includes two distinct roles: Salesperson and Store Driver. Both positions can be part-time or full-time.

About the Salesperson Role

Entry-level sales position supporting the DIY business with sales and service objectives. Requires knowledge of store systems, basic automotive systems, and part knowledge. Ability to source parts from stores, hubs, PDQ, and external suppliers, with in-depth knowledge of store inventory and maintenance processes. Fleet safety certification preferred.

Responsibilities (Salesperson)

• Provide excellent selling experience for DIY customer visits and phone calls
• Achieve personal sales goals and help the store meet its sales targets
• Provide DIY services including battery installation, testing, and wiper installs
• Maintain store product and operational standards
• Manage inventory processes including truck put-away, shoot-outs, cycle counts, and back stock

Secondary Responsibilities (Salesperson)

• Maintain store cleanliness including floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting, and parking lot
• General stocking including truck stocking and back stock
• Safely deliver parts to customers as needed

Success Factors (Salesperson)

• Basic driving and navigation ability
• Ability to use delivery board system

• Operating inventory systems and store equipment
• Parts and automotive system knowledge
• Operating POS and parts lookup systems
• Expertise with testing and diagnostic equipment for DIY service

Qualifications (Salesperson)

• Speak and write English (Spanish a plus); communicate effectively and build strong relationships with customers, peers, and management
• Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, parts catalogs, and procedure manuals
• Use basic math accurately: add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
• Ability to work varied shifts including days, evenings, and weekends as needed

Preferred Experience (Salesperson)

2-3 years of successful sales experience in a diverse retail environment, providing superior customer experiences.

About the Store Driver Role

Entry-level position supporting the delivery of parts to commercial customers. Responsible for delivering parts, assisting with tasks, and managing inventory processes in the store. Fleet safety certification required.

Responsibilities (Store Driver)

• Safely deliver parts to customers as needed
• Pick and stage parts for customer orders
• Pick up returns and cores
• Drop off weekly/monthly sales flyers
• Daily collection of credit accounts

• Maintain store cleanliness including floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting, and parking lot
• General stocking including truck stocking and back stock

Automotive parts experience is preferred.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described apply to both roles. While performing the duties of these jobs, the employee will predominantly be walking or standing. The employee must:

• Talk and hear, and use hands and fingers to handle or feel
• Reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
• Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
• Have specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

Work Environment

The work environment characteristics described apply to both roles. While performing the duties of these jobs, the employee:

• Primarily works inside but may occasionally work outside and be exposed to various weather conditions (e.g., installing batteries and wiper blades)
• May be exposed to moving mechanical parts, high or precarious places, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, explosives, and vibration
• Works in a moderately noisy environment
