Salesperson/Store Driver Store 8616

This posting combines two roles: Salesperson and Store Driver. Both positions can be part-time or full-time.

About the Role

Entry-level positions supporting either DIY sales and service or commercial parts delivery. Both roles require basic automotive knowledge, store system familiarity, and the ability to maintain store inventory and operational standards.

Responsibilities

Salesperson

• Provide excellent selling experience for DIY customer visits and phone calls
• Achieve personal sales goals and help the store meet its sales targets
• Perform DIY services including battery installation, testing, and wiper installs
• Maintain store product and operational standards
• Manage inventory processes: truck put-away, shoot-outs, cycle counts, back stock
• Store cleanliness: floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting, parking lot
• General stocking: truck stocking and back stock
• Safely deliver parts to customers as needed

Store Driver

• Safely deliver parts to commercial customers
• Pick and stage parts for customer orders
• Pick up returns and cores
• Drop off weekly/monthly sales flyers
• Daily collection of credit accounts
• Store cleanliness: floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting, parking lot
• General stocking: truck stocking and back stock

Requirements

• Speak and write English (Spanish a plus); communicate effectively and build strong relationships with customers, peers, and management
• Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, parts catalogs, and procedure manuals
• Use basic math accurately: add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
• Ability to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, and weekends
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Fleet safety certification required for Driver role; preferred for Salesperson role

Qualifications

Salesperson

• 2-3 years of successful sales experience in a diverse retail environment, providing superior customer experiences

Store Driver

• Automotive parts experience preferred

Physical Demands

• Predominantly walking or standing
• Talking, hearing, and using hands to handle or feel
• Reaching with hands and arms; climbing or balancing; stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling
• Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
• Specific vision abilities: close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

Work Environment

• Primarily indoors; occasional outdoor tasks (e.g., installing batteries and wiper blades) in various weather conditions
• Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, high/precarious places, toxic/caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, explosives, and vibration
• Moderate noise level

Pay

Good faith estimate for new team members: $13.50 – $14.61 USD per hour. Rate depends on geographic location, experience, automotive knowledge, education, leadership roles, and shift differential (if applicable).
