This posting includes two roles: Salesperson and Store Driver. Both positions can be part-time or full-time.

About the Role

Entry-level position supporting the DIY business, achieving sales and service objectives. Requires good knowledge of store systems, basic automotive system knowledge, and basic part knowledge. Ability to source from stores, hubs, PDQ, and external suppliers, with in-depth knowledge of store inventory and maintenance processes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent selling experience for DIY customer visits and phone calls.
  • Achieve personal sales goals and help the store meet its sales targets.
  • Provide DIY services including battery installation, testing, and wiper installs.
  • Maintain store product and operational standards.
  • Handle inventory processes including truck put-away, shoot-outs, cycle counts, and back stock.
  • Ensure store cleanliness, including floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting, and parking lot maintenance.
  • General stocking tasks, including truck stocking and back stock.
  • Safely deliver parts to customers as needed.

Requirements

  • Basic driving and navigation ability.
  • Ability to use a delivery board system.
  • Friendly communication skills.
  • Ability to locate and stock parts.
  • Safety knowledge and skills.
  • Operating inventory systems and store equipment.
  • Parts and automotive system knowledge.
  • Operating POS and parts lookup systems.
  • Expertise in testing and diagnostic equipment for DIY service.
  • Fleet safety certification preferred.

Qualifications

  • Speak and write English (Spanish a plus); communicate effectively and build strong relationships with customers, peers, and management.
  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, parts catalogs, and procedure manuals.
  • Use basic math accurately: add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to work an assortment of days, evenings, and weekends as needed.
  • 2-3 years of successful sales experience in a diverse retail environment, providing superior customer experiences (preferred).

About the Driver Role

Entry-level store position focused on delivering parts to commercial customers and assisting with task and inventory processes in the store. Must be fleet safety certified.

Driver Responsibilities

  • Safely deliver parts to customers as needed.
  • Pick and stage parts for customer orders.
  • Pick up returns and cores.
  • Drop off weekly/monthly sales flyers.
  • Daily collection of credit accounts.
  • Store cleanliness, including floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting, and parking lot maintenance.
  • General stocking, including truck stocking and back stock.

Driver Requirements

  • Basic driving and navigation ability.
  • Ability to use a delivery board system.
  • Friendly communication skills.
  • Ability to locate and stock parts.
  • Safety knowledge and skills.
  • Operating inventory systems (back stock) and store equipment.
  • Valid driver’s license and fleet safety certification required.

Driver Qualifications

Physical Demands

  • Predominantly walking or standing.
  • Must be able to talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

  • Primarily indoors, with occasional outdoor exposure to weather conditions (e.g., installing batteries and wiper blades).
  • Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, high or precarious places, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, explosives, and vibration.
  • Moderate noise level in the work environment.
