This posting includes two roles: Salesperson and Store Driver. Both positions can be part-time or full-time.

About the Salesperson Role

Entry-level sales position supporting the DIY business to achieve sales and service objectives. The role requires good knowledge of store systems, basic automotive system knowledge, and basic part knowledge. Ability to source parts from stores, hubs, PDQ, and external suppliers, with in-depth knowledge of store inventory and maintenance processes. Fleet safety certification is preferred.

Responsibilities (Salesperson)

  • Provide excellent selling experience for DIY customer visits and phone calls
  • Achieve personal sales goals and help the store achieve its sales goals
  • Provide DIY services including battery installation, testing, and wiper installs
  • Maintain store product and operational standards
  • Responsible for inventory processes including truck put-away, shoot-outs, cycle counts, and back stock

Secondary Responsibilities (Salesperson)

  • Store cleanliness including floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting, and parking lot maintenance
  • General stocking including truck stocking and back stock
  • Safely deliver parts to customers as needed

Success Factors (Salesperson)

  • Basic driving and navigation ability
  • Ability to use delivery board system
  • Friendly communication
  • Ability to locate and stock parts
  • Safety knowledge and skills
  • Operating inventory systems and store equipment
  • Parts and automotive system knowledge
  • Operating POS and parts lookup systems
  • Expertise with testing and diagnostic equipment for DIY service

Qualifications (Salesperson)

  • Speak and write English (Spanish a plus); communicate effectively and build strong relationships with customers, peers, and management
  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, parts catalogs, and procedure manuals
  • Use basic math accurately: add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to work an assortment of days, evenings, and weekends as needed

Preferred Experience (Salesperson)

2-3 years of successful sales experience in a diverse retail environment, providing superior customer experiences.

About the Store Driver Role

Entry-level store position focused on delivering parts to commercial customers and assisting with task and inventory processes in the store. Fleet safety certification is required.

Responsibilities (Store Driver)

  • Safely deliver parts to customers as needed
  • Pick and stage parts for customer orders
  • Pick up returns and cores
  • Drop off weekly/monthly sales flyers
  • Daily collection of credit accounts

Secondary Responsibilities (Store Driver)

  • Store cleanliness including floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting, and parking lot maintenance
  • General stocking including truck stocking and back stock

Success Factors (Store Driver)

  • Basic driving and navigation ability

  • Operating inventory systems (Back stock) and store equipment

Qualifications (Store Driver)

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and be fleet safety certified

Preferred Experience (Store Driver)

Automotive parts experience is preferred.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here apply to both roles. While performing the duties of these jobs, the employee will predominantly be walking or standing. The employee must be able to:

  • Talk and hear, and use hands and fingers to handle or feel
  • Reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

Work Environment

The work environment characteristics described here apply to both roles. While performing the duties of these jobs:

  • The employee is usually working inside but will occasionally be outside and exposed to various weather conditions (e.g., installing batteries and wiper blades)
  • Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock; explosives; and vibration
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
