Salesperson/Store Driver Store 2530

This posting combines two roles: Salesperson and Store Driver. Both positions can be part-time or full-time.

About the Roles

Salesperson: Entry-level sales position supporting the DIY business. Requires good knowledge of store systems, basic automotive system knowledge, and basic part knowledge. Ability to source from stores, hubs, PDQ, and external suppliers, with in-depth knowledge of store inventory and maintenance processes.

Store Driver: Entry-level position supporting delivery of parts to commercial customers. Responsible for delivering parts, assisting with task and inventory processes, and must be fleet safety certified.

Responsibilities

Salesperson

• Provide excellent selling experience for DIY customer visits and phone calls.
• Achieve personal sales goals and help the store achieve its sales targets.
• Provide DIY services including battery installation, testing, and wiper installs.
• Maintain store product and operational standards.
• Responsible for inventory processes including truck put-away, shoot-outs, cycle counts, and back stock management.

Secondary Responsibilities (Salesperson & Driver)

• Maintain store cleanliness including floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting, and parking lot.
• General stocking including truck stocking and back stock.

Store Driver

• Safely deliver parts to customers as needed.
• Pick and stage parts for customer orders.
• Pick up returns and cores.
• Drop off weekly/monthly sales flyers.
• Daily collection of credit accounts.

Success Factors

• Basic driving and navigation ability.
• Ability to use delivery board system.
• Friendly communication.
• Ability to locate and stock parts.
• Safety knowledge and skills.
• Operating inventory systems and store equipment.
• Parts and automotive system knowledge.
• Operating POS and parts lookup systems.
• Expertise with testing and diagnostic equipment for DIY service.

Qualifications & Skills

• Speak and write English (Spanish a plus); communicate effectively and build strong relationships with customers, peers, and management.
• Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, parts catalogs, and procedure manuals.
• Use basic math accurately: add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to work an assortment of days, evenings, and weekends as needed.

Preferred Experience

• Salesperson: 2-3 years of successful sales experience in a diverse retail environment, providing superior customer experiences.
• Store Driver: Automotive parts experience is preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Fleet safety certification preferred (required for Store Driver).

Physical Demands

• Predominantly walking or standing.
• Must be able to talk, hear, and use hands/fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

• Primarily indoors, with occasional outdoor exposure to various weather conditions (e.g., installing batteries and wiper blades).
• Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, high/precarious places, toxic/caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, explosives, and vibration.
• Noise level is usually moderate.

Pay

The good faith estimate for these roles is between $13.50 USD and $14.61 USD per hour for a new team member. The rate offered depends on geographic location, experience in retail, automotive knowledge, education, leadership roles, and shift differential (if applicable).
