About the role

This role identifies, develops, and closes commercial cleaning contracts from prospecting through award. The ideal candidate is a proactive “hunter” who can sell into complex organizations, build relationships, manage a disciplined sales process, and work with agencies, utilities, operators, engineering firms, contractors, facility managers, procurement teams, and executives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a NYC metro sales plan
  • Generate leads through networking, referrals, cold outreach, site visits, events, and relationship development
  • Build relationships with facility, operations, project, procurement, property management, and executive decision-makers
  • Conduct walkthroughs
  • Create customized cleaning solutions
  • Prepare proposals, pricing, and presentations
  • Maintain CRM records, pipeline, forecasting, activities, and follow-up
  • Cook up with operations for onboarding and retention
  • Monitor public bids, RFPs, RFQs, and prequalification opportunities
  • Participate in networking organizations

Requirements

  • 5–10 years of B2B sales or business development experience
  • Proven success closing service contracts
  • CRM experience with Salesforce, HubSpot, Zoho, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar
  • Structured pipeline management and forecasting
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, organization, and time-management skills
  • Ability to work independently, meet revenue targets, travel throughout the NYC metro area, and hold a valid driver’s license

  • Existing relationships, experience, or contacts in transportation/transit, including MTA, NJ Transit, Port Authority, airports, rail and bus operations
  • Utilities/energy, including electric, gas, water, and telecommunications

  • Contractors
  • Commercial real estate/property management
  • Municipal, county, and state agencies

Skills

  • Experience selling for a WBE, MBE, SBE, DBE, or similar certified business
  • Knowledge of supplier diversity and procurement processes used by government agencies, utilities, transportation authorities, engineering firms, contractors, and corporate clients
  • Ability to build a network of facility, operations, procurement, engineering, construction, utility, transit, and infrastructure contacts
  • Ability to sell into organizations with multiple decision-makers
  • Understanding of public-sector procurement and bids
  • Pursuit of major utility, transit, infrastructure, engineering, and contractor opportunities
  • Leveraging CRM consistently
  • Using WBE/SBE/DBE/supplier diversity programs
  • Working independently
  • Delivering measurable results
