Salesforce CRP Tech Lead

About the role

The Salesforce CRP Tech Lead will be responsible for the development and functional expansion of the Catalog, Registration, and Payment (CRP) module of Harvard’s Learning Experience Platform (LXP).

Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical product roadmap, understanding and communicating scope, dependencies, priorities, and level of effort for planned future work and adjusting as new priorities emerge.
  • Ultimate responsibility for translating business requirements into a technical architecture and solutions, documenting requirements and solution design, creating prototypes, presenting demos, and conducting end-user training where necessary.
  • Represent the CRP team as its technical leader in a variety of scheduled meetings as well as ad-hoc sessions with customers, prospective tenants, and other members of the extended team.
  • Lead a team of external developers, working with the CRP Product Manager to plan sprints, refine work, and offer guidance when needed.
  • Act as the CRP team’s subject matter expert to define and consistently implement best practices with regards to Salesforce system configuration, development, testing, deployment, data integrity, information security, stability, etc.
  • Design, develop, and deploy new features and feature enhancements using the full range of Salesforce development tools including Apex, Flow, and LWC.
  • Define and implement a release strategy; lead code reviews and serve as release manager for scheduled and off-schedule feature releases and fixes.
  • Support and maintain integrations with internal and third-party solutions.
  • Aid the team with identifying and resolving time-sensitive tenant and end-customer issues.

Qualifications

  • Basic Qualifications: Minimum of seven years’ post-secondary education or relevant work experience.
  • Additional Qualifications and Skills: Experience as a Salesforce Developer, Architect, Product Owner, or similar role for an Enterprise or above edition of Sales Cloud or Service Cloud; demonstrated leadership in determining and executing a product or system roadmap; experience with Apex and SOQL at scale including object oriented principles, triggers, batch and queueable Apex, callouts, logging, and error handling; experience using Salesforce in a multi-tenant environment or similar situation requiring robust data sharing and access controls, and solutioning for the needs of multiple groups; experience with Javascript, HTML, CSS, and Lightning Web Components (LWC); experience with Salesforce Flow, including screen Flows for process automation; thorough understanding of Salesforce platform limits; proficiency with Salesforce customization and configuration including creation of custom objects and fields of different types including formulas, junction objects, etc.; experience in deploying metadata from sandboxes to production environments, including using tools such as Git, GitHub, and the SF command line; experience with iterative, agile software development methodology and tools such as Jira; excellent communication and collaboration skills including one-on-one interaction, written communication, oral presentation, and meeting facilitation with executive-level sponsors; demonstrated ability to effectively communicate technical issues and resolve problems at all levels of an organization in a collaborative way; demonstrated ability to lead a technical team and manage developers; demonstrated ability to work both individually and as a team member in a collaborative environment to achieve agreed-upon objectives; proven ability to handle sensitive data with discretion and manage multiple tasks simultaneously; ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment.
