Salesforce Applications Engineer
About the role
The Corporate Engineering Platform Tooling team builds and maintains internal systems that support Robinhood's customer support, marketing, and legal operations. The team develops reliable internal platforms that enable teams across the company to manage customer interactions, operational workflows, and compliance processes. Engineers on this team maintain the Salesforce environment that powers these operations while ensuring system stability, data security, and scalable architecture.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop applications, configurations, and integrations within Robinhood’s Salesforce environment to support internal operational systems.
- Build and maintain custom functionality using Salesforce Lightning, Apex, and Visualforce to support internal workflows and business requirements.
- Maintain system reliability and respond to operational issues through on-call participation and incident resolution processes.
- Translate business requirements from internal teams into scalable Salesforce technical solutions and integrations.
- Implement and maintain secure Salesforce configurations, including user permissions, custom objects, validation rules, and automation tools.
- Leverage AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude, Cursor) to accelerate the creation of Apex code, Flows, and Salesforce metadata, improving development velocity and efficiency.
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills by investigating and resolving issues reported by business teams, identifying root causes, and implementing scalable fixes.
Requirements
- 2-5 years of experience building and maintaining Salesforce environments supporting enterprise-scale systems.
- Experience developing Salesforce applications using Lightning, Apex, and Visualforce.
- Ability to design, test, debug, package, and deploy scalable Salesforce solutions with clear documentation.
- Experience implementing integrations between Salesforce and internal or third-party systems.
- Strong understanding of Salesforce configuration tools including custom objects, flows, validation rules, and platform security controls.
- Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude, Cursor) to accelerate the development of Apex code, Flows, and Salesforce metadata while maintaining code quality and best practices.
Qualifications
- US citizenship or lawful permanent resident status due to legal requirements.
Skills
- Experience with Salesforce Lightning, Apex, and Visualforce.
- Knowledge of Salesforce configuration tools including custom objects, flows, validation rules, and platform security controls.
- Experience with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude, Cursor).

Pay
This position is restricted to US citizens or lawful permanent residents due to legal requirements. The expected base pay range for this role is based on the location where the work will be performed and is aligned to one of 3 compensation zones.
Schedule
This role is based in our Menlo Park, CA office(s), with in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week.
