About the role
Ritchie Brothers is seeking a Sales Training Specialist who is passionate about developing high-performing teams and driving measurable business impact. The role involves designing and delivering innovative training programs to enhance sales performance and accelerate results.
Responsibilities
- Deliver New Hire Sales Training Programs
- Develop and deliver sales training programs and initiatives; assume full control and accountability for assigned training initiatives; focus on sales team skills and productivity.
- Audit participant skill and knowledge levels and provide feedback to leadership.
- Provide guidance regarding coaching and performance management opportunities (including probationary period assessment).
- Deliver ongoing training and development solutions to the sales organization.
- Participate in training functions, special events, and corporate conferences in the capacity of planning, coordinating, and facilitating.
- Coach and train sales representatives and sales leaders in a one-to-one or group setting on how to evaluate and deal with unique training scenarios or skill development requirements.
- Work directly with business stakeholders in the development of training solutions to drive sales team skills and productivity.
- Collaborate with content development and design team to design, assess, and update training programs.
- Ensure training programs reflect current business practices and policies.
- Enhance or create training materials and tools as required.
- Conduct need analysis and recommend appropriate development solutions with supporting cost-benefit analysis.
- Coordinate with internal partners to ensure training program logistics support the business.
- Maintain communication links at all levels regarding training endeavors.
- Flexible and willing to perform other tasks as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or Adult Learning Certificate or Accreditation preferred
- 3-5 years' experience in a consultative sales position with proven knowledge of the sales process and sales techniques and skills preferred
- 1-2 years' experience in professional facilitation
- 1-2 years' experience in a sales role or organization
- Ability to read learning participants and adapt to meet needs
- Ability to partner with field leadership when presented with potential performance gaps within programs
- Ability to recommend development and coaching strategies
- Experience with learning-related software (screen capture, recording, eLearning authoring tools, etc.) an asset
- A strong work ethic with the ability to effectively multi-task and meet deadlines
- Available for domestic or international travel when required
