Sales Trainee - Access Equipment - Southeast

About the role

JLG, an Oshkosh Company, began in 1969 and is committed to innovative solutions in the access market. The Sales Trainee role is the starting point of a career adventure within JLG’s North American Field Sales team. The program rotates the candidate through Inside Sales, Field Aftermarket, Whole goods sales, Marketing, Finance, Purchasing, and Manufacturing, with 50% travel to visit and build relationships with customers. The role combines office-based administrative duties with physical activity in field or production environments, including extended computer use, sitting, meetings, walking across various terrains, standing, moderate lifting (up to 50 pounds), climbing stairs, and exposure to varying temperatures or noise levels.

Responsibilities

• Understand and learn all areas of JLG sales team through a rotational program.
• Work with the inside sales team to enter orders, and field customer calls.
• Act as an inter-department liaison coordinating essential company activities on behalf of the sales team.
• Partner with sales team members to ensure alignment on customer and regional needs or trends.
• Partner with sales representatives to enter customer information and configure machines that meet customer’s current and future demands.
• Analyze regional sales and order book entries to provide credible input for the forecasting process.
• Handle certain administrative tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business or a related field.
• Ability to travel 50-70%.

Skills

• Experience in a manufacturing industry (standout qualification).
• Ability to work independently and within a team structured environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with various web-based software applications including Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.
• Strong customer focus and effective use of a consultative approach.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where requirements are constantly changing.
• Located close to a major airport.

Pay

Pay Range $51,400.00 - $79,200.00
