The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board (PLCB) offers a full-time, customer-focused retail opportunity at our Fine Wine & Good Spirits store in Carlisle. This role combines leadership, customer service, and hands-on tasks in a dynamic, high-energy environment.
About the role
As a Sales Team Lead, you will support the smooth operation of the store by guiding staff and assisting with daily responsibilities. This position includes leadership, customer service, and operational duties throughout each shift.
Responsibilities
- Shift Leadership: Guide clerks during assigned shifts and ensure store activities run smoothly.
- Customer Support: Assist shoppers, answer questions, and promote a positive store experience.
- Sales Processing: Operate the cash register and complete accurate sales transactions.
- Stock Management: Unload shipments, stock shelves, and build organized product displays.
- Clerk Training: Provide direction and instruction to less experienced staff on store procedures.
- Record Reporting: Complete shift reports related to cash handling and inventory management.
Requirements
- Six months of experience as a Liquor Store Clerk 1 or Intermittent Liquor Store Clerk (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Six months of retail sales work.
- Must meet Pennsylvania residency requirements.
- Must be able to perform essential job functions.
- Must pass a background investigation. Applicants with a felony conviction within the last ten years of their prospective date of employment are not permitted to work for the PLCB. Other criminal convictions will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
Schedule
- Full-time employment, totaling 75 hours biweekly.
- Work hours will vary.
- No telework option available for this position.

Pay
The starting salary for this position for new Commonwealth employees is fixed at the minimum salary and is not negotiable.
