The Opportunity
Rapaport Auctions is seeking an experienced Sales Team Lead to help drive the next stage of our growth. This is a true player-coach role designed for someone who enjoys both selling and leading. You will manage a portfolio of strategic clients while leading, coaching, and developing a team of Account Executives responsible for expanding participation in Rapaport Auctions. You'll play a key role in growing auction revenue, strengthening relationships across the diamond and jewelry industry, and building a high-performing sales culture focused on accountability, collaboration, and results.
What You'll Do
- Drive Revenue Growth
- Manage and grow a portfolio of strategic buyer and seller accounts.
- Identify new business opportunities and convert prospects into active auction participants.
- Build long-term relationships with manufacturers, wholesalers, retailers, jewelers, estate buyers, and other industry participants.
- Lead the entire sales process from prospecting and qualification through onboarding, retention, and account expansion.
- Consistently achieve and exceed individual revenue targets.
- Lead & Develop the Team
- Lead, coach, and inspire a team of Account Executives.
- Conduct regular pipeline reviews, one-on-one coaching sessions, and performance discussions.
- Help establish best practices for prospecting, client management, and closing business.
- Support recruiting, onboarding, and ongoing training of new team members.
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and customer focus.
- Lead by example through strong personal sales performance.
- Partner Across the Business
- Collaborate with Marketing on campaigns, trade shows, and client events.
- Work closely with Operations and Customer Success to ensure an exceptional client experience.
- Provide market intelligence and customer feedback to help shape future products and services.
- Represent Rapaport Auctions at major industry events and strengthen our presence within the global diamond and jewelry community.
Required
- 5+ years of B2B sales experience, including leadership, coaching, or team management responsibilities.
- Direct experience within the diamond and jewelry industry.
- Demonstrated success managing high-value client relationships and consistently achieving sales targets.
- Experience leading or mentoring sales professionals while maintaining an individual sales quota.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience using Salesforce or other CRM platforms.
- Ability to work full-time from our New York office.
PREFERRED
- Experience with diamond auctions, marketplaces, or luxury goods.
- Established network within the diamond and jewelry industry.
- Experience working with international customers and global teams.
- Knowledge of recycled diamonds, estate jewelry, or secondary market sourcing.
