Sales Specialist, Uro-Oncology - Detroit, MI
About the role
As the Sales Specialist, Uro-Oncology, you will be a critical part of the customer-facing team responsible for promoting Ferring’s intravesical gene therapy. This role covers Detroit, MI; you must reside in or near Detroit or another major city with easy airport access. You will drive sales in an assigned territory, navigating urologic and uro-oncologic care settings to deliver a novel therapy that is setting a new benchmark in bladder cancer treatment.

Responsibilities
- Promote and sell Ferring products to achieve or exceed established sales quotas.
- Maintain regular contact with current and prospective customers.
- Prepare and submit timely, accurate reports to management and stakeholders.
- Participate in sales field rides and act on developmental feedback.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities.
- Deploy and leverage marketing materials, programs, and approved sales tools.
- Build and sustain effective relationships with targeted healthcare professionals and institutions.
- Monitor and manage district expenses, budgets, and sample allotments.
- Represent Ferring at professional industry meetings and seminars.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Minimum 4 years of buy-and-bill medical or pharmaceutical sales experience.
- At least 2 years of experience in Oncology and/or Urology strongly preferred.
- Bladder cancer experience is a plus.
- Proven ability to meet or exceed sales objectives and expand customer base.
- Ability to meet expense management and demand generation goals.
Physical Requirements
- Sitting for 3–4 hours at a time while driving or traveling up to 60% of the time, depending on territory geography.
- Walking up to 15% of the time, depending on territory geography.
- Climbing stairs or ramps in urban territories where public transportation may be required.
- Standing for more than 1–2 hours at a time.
- Lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling items up to 20 pounds (e.g., laptop, iPad, printed materials, product samples).
- Long-distance travel via airplane or other commercial conveyance approximately 2–3 times per year, with additional overnight or extended travel as needed.
Pay
The base salary range for this role is $135,000 to $179,000, with actual pay determined by experience, skills, and primary work location. Additional compensation includes competitive annual incentive commissions based on individual and company performance.

Schedule
This is a field-based role requiring significant travel within the Detroit, MI territory. For non-field roles, Ferring operates under a hybrid policy of four days in the office and one day remote.
