Sales Specialist Front End

About the role

The Front End Specialist assists in the day-to-day Front End and cashier operations of the store, reporting to the Front End Manager.

Responsibilities

• Handles monetary transactions and performs advanced cashiering duties
• Approves voids, employee discounts, returns, and exchanges
• Processes and settles daily cash and credit transactions
• Documents and communicates overages, shortages, sales data, and technical or price discrepancies to managers and departments
• Processes and monitors currency orders to ensure cash availability for transactions
• Oversees prompt and accurate fulfillment of online orders through platforms such as Instacart and Mercato
• Answers inquiries about online orders and provides product information
• Confirms and locks customers’ orders, communicating fulfillment timelines
• Handpicks items from customers’ lists, scans using a handheld device, and processes payments via cash or card
• Collects cash, checks, or charge payments, providing change or vouchers as needed
• Ensures accuracy of cash bank by counting cash, checks, and charge payments at the end of each shift
• Orders and monitors inventory of Front End supplies
• Returns carts and baskets to central areas, handles go-backs/damages, fixes displays, and assists with restocking
• Conducts regular inventory checks with Retail Department Heads to update digital platforms
• Performs other duties as required or assigned

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in a retail setting
• Ability to handle money accurately and perform mathematical calculations
• Intermediate computer skills, including email and Microsoft Office
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred
• Availability to work onsite with a flexible schedule, often including weekends
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours, including standing, walking, bending, and squatting

Pay

Pay range is $18.50 - $19 an hour.
