About the role

Axalta is seeking a Sales Specialist to grow business and sell solutions to potential customers within a defined market. This remote-based role requires a local presence in Indiana, ideally the greater Indianapolis area, to allow for onsite visits across the assigned territory. The Sales Specialist will partner with coatings customers to drive new business to Axalta as part of the regional sales team.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate ownership, commitment, and accountability to regional and Axalta sales goals with a high sense of urgency.
  • Drive business growth by selling solutions across segment customers and meet required sales/revenue targets.
  • Identify and develop a robust pipeline of prospective customers and build a professional network within the industry.
  • Conduct market research to uncover value drivers and communicate accurate, timely market updates to management.
  • Actively participate in the preparation and execution of sales plans, events, and campaigns.
  • Communicate and present Axalta solutions effectively to key decision-makers at prospective companies.
  • Collaborate with internal and external resources to deliver results.
  • Maintain accurate account information and contact data in SalesForce (SFDC).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or at least 5 years of Automotive Refinish industry experience.
  • 5+ years of direct selling experience with a track record of hitting or exceeding sales goals.
  • Experience selling to or managing relationships with top-tier clients preferred.
  • Strong business development and prospecting skills, with the ability to quickly acquire new clients.
  • Strong knowledge of the collision repair, commercial transportation, and industrial business environment, as well as distribution fundamentals.
  • Working knowledge of Axalta’s core product lines and repair shop business fundamentals.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with strong relationship-building and presentation abilities.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and time management skills.
  • Self-discipline and a strong work ethic.
  • Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Willing and able to travel up to 50% of the time.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
