Sales Representative (Medicare)
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future.
Position Purpose
Provide sales coverage and develop best possible market penetration for all products to present and prospective accounts in an assigned territory in accordance with company's policies and programs. Provide greater access to health insurance by offering education and assistance to Medicare individuals. Responsibilities include:
- Distributing health education materials and arranging health screenings
- Providing Facilitated Enrollment, helping facilitate the continuance of health insurance, and offering assistance with recertification
- Identifying prospective enrollees and determining eligibility for participation in the Advantage Medicare product
- Understanding and applying all policies and procedures pertaining to disclosures, provisions, enrollment, and disenrollment of the Advantage Medicare product
- Developing a presence in the local community to generate enrollments
- Conducting home visits and personalized appointments to complete the enrollment process
- Marketing Advantage on-site at hospitals, senior centers, assisted living facilities, community events, and other designated sites
- Understanding covered benefits, non-covered benefits, exclusions, and exemptions
- Assisting members in accessing healthcare, transportation, and other services or issues as they occur
- Keeping informed and adhering to current marketing activity guidelines set forth by regulatory agencies, including providing enrollees with all corresponding materials and documentation
- Monitoring competitive products and marketing practices and reporting findings to management
- Conducting and participating in telemarketing and outreach efforts
- Attending sales meetings, training programs, conventions, and special events
- Completing applications in a timely and accurate manner
- Submitting special reports regarding territory operations, product acceptance or rejection, and competitive conditions
- Performing other duties as assigned and complying with all policies and standards
Requirements
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
- 1+ years of marketing, sales, or community relations experience, including previous managed care experience, preferably in Medicare
- State Accident and Health Insurance Agent License (upon hire)
- Current state driver's license (upon hire)
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred (specific language skills may be required by some plans)
- Must reside in New York City (Queens, Brooklyn, Bronx, Manhattan, Staten Island) or surrounding communities
Pay
$48,300.00 - $82,400.00 per year. Actual pay will be adjusted based on an individual's skills, experience, education, and other job-related factors permitted by law, including full-time or part-time status. Total compensation may also include additional forms of incentives.
