Sales Representative I, Pain Therapies - Greenville, SC
We are seeking a committed professional to join our remote Neuroscience team. While this is a remote position, the candidate must reside within the assigned territory and drive to multiple accounts throughout the region. A valid driver's license is essential for this role.
About the role
As part of Medtronic’s Neuromodulation Operating Unit, you will represent our Pain Therapies portfolio, which includes Spinal Cord Stimulation, Drug Infusion for Chronic Pain and Severe Spasticity, and RF Nerve Ablation. This field-based role focuses on soliciting orders, selling assigned Medtronic Pain products, and maintaining awareness of local competitive conditions while reporting to the district manager. You will collaborate with other Pain Therapies Sales Representatives to cover territory and drive sales.
Responsibilities
- Generate new sales by developing leads, recruiting new surgeons, qualifying prospects, and making sales calls.
- Grow existing Pain business and develop new opportunities with minimal supervision, utilizing corporate resources to meet or exceed quota.
- Manage accounts in the assigned territory and implement approved marketing strategies.
- Aggressively seek new customers and formulate plans for action as directed by the District Sales Manager.
- Respond to customer complaints in accordance with Medtronic policy and escalate issues beyond your scope of authority.
- Monitor competitors’ product and merchandising practices and report findings to the District Sales Manager.
- Maintain up-to-date customer records as instructed by the District Sales Manager.
- Identify selling opportunities and collaborate with sales representatives to increase sales in their accounts.
- Complete all required product and sales-related training.
- Prepare and submit call reports as required.
- Attend and participate in sales meetings, training programs, conventions, and trade shows as directed.
- Cooperate with all personnel on the execution of company programs.
- Create and implement an annual business plan with quarterly updates.
- Provide service to customers based on their individual needs.
- Respond promptly to all reporting requirements and requests.
- Adhere to company policies and conduct all business ethically.
Requirements
- High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 4+ years of relevant sales, clinical, or related experience in medical device, MedTech, healthcare, or life sciences; or Associate’s Degree and 2+ years of relevant experience; or Bachelor’s Degree.
- Valid driver’s license, active vehicle insurance, and a driving record that meets Medtronic’s standards.
- Ability to travel frequently within the territory and occasionally outside it, including overnight stays.
- Physical ability to sit, stand, walk, use hands, reach, and occasionally lift up to 30 pounds.
- Vision abilities including close and distance vision.
- Extended computer use and communication with peers and coworkers.
- For degrees earned outside the U.S., a degree that satisfies 8 C.F.R. 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A).
Qualifications
- Nice to Have:
- Ortho, Spine, or O.R. experience.
- Experience selling in environments requiring surgeon partnerships, especially for new devices or procedures.
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, rapidly changing environments.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Comfort working independently with high accountability.

Pay
Salary ranges for U.S. locations (excluding Puerto Rico): $45,000.00 USD base salary. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on experience, certifications, market conditions, and location. This position is also eligible for a Sales Incentive Plan (SIP), providing the opportunity to earn significant incentive compensation for achieving or exceeding goals.
