About the role
The Sales Representative is responsible for selling company products, developing and securing new accounts, and investigating potential new product placements to grow market share in the Walworth County area.
Responsibilities
- Creates, develops, and maintains positive relationships in every account.
- Answers all customer questions concerning price, products, promotions, etc.
- Performs promotional work to sell and secure new business, including major accounts, new territories, or new markets.
- Demonstrates product knowledge and assists prospective accounts in selecting products that best suit their needs.
- Familiarizes established accounts with new products and promotions.
- Builds business relationships and presents professional sales presentations using sales histories and pitch books.
- Maintains published product freshness standards in assigned retail accounts by monitoring and rotating stocks.
- Works with the credit department to resolve credit issues, including collecting past-due balances.
- Makes daily decisions regarding retail inventory levels using past sales history, climate changes, competitive activity, and special promotions.
- Assists with preparations for trade shows and promotional events.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree with courses in marketing or business-related field OR equivalent job-related experience.
- Sales experience preferred.
- One to three years of experience working in sales and/or marketing.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and proof of insurance.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite programs and mobile communications.
- Shelf Planning Plus knowledge preferred.
- Customer service minded.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both oral and written.
- Demonstrated initiative and flexibility.
- High-level organizational, time management, and planning skills.
