About the role
You will engage with existing and prospective customers in a designated territory, promote Kimball Midwest’s 55,000+ maintenance, repair, and operations products, and drive sales revenue. The company is family-owned, American-made focused (80% of spend), and has grown from $1 million in 1983 to over $500 million today.
Responsibilities
- Relationship Management: Cultivate strong customer relationships in your territory to understand business needs and identify opportunities. Treat customers and associates with equal respect.
- Cold Calling & Prospecting: Cold call potential customers to grow your book of business, emphasizing greenfield opportunities.
- Planning & Priority Setting: Plan your week in advance to prioritize customer visits and territory growth, using a bottom-up planning approach.
- Product Knowledge: Demonstrate products to showcase their value and quality, reinforcing the company’s American-made commitment.
- Achieve Sales Goals: Meet or exceed sales quotas by following proven sales programs and processes learned in training workshops. Company goal: double sales every five years.
- Reporting: Maintain accurate records of daily sales activities in company systems and report cost-savings back to customers.
Requirements
- Ability to travel to customer locations, company meetings, and other sites within your assigned territory while maintaining required insurance coverage minimums.
- Use of a personal electronic device compliant with the company’s Bring-Your-Own-Device (BYOD) policy.
- Execution of an Employment Agreement and/or revised exhibits, provided for review prior to signing.
Compensation & Benefits
- Uncapped commission earnings with 1st-year compensation plans ranging from $55,000–$95,000.
