At Helena, our Sales Representatives serve on the front line between our business and our customers and are a key component to our success.
About The Job
- Build personal relationships with customers to help them identify agronomic solutions and offer our high-quality products.
- Offer essential information about products such as price, credit terms, and durability.
- Complete sales contracts and record sales information.
- Collect receivables in a timely manner.
- Promote products at trade shows and conferences.
- Maintain a high level of technical expertise and strive to achieve the market's sales goals.
- Regulate credit sales according to company credit policy.
- Provide excellent customer service to all internal and external customers.
- Drive a company vehicle (required).
- Perform other work-related duties as assigned by your leader.
What Your Day Will Look Like
- Make calls on regular and prospective customers to drive new business.
- Demonstrate products and provide essential information.
- Answer questions about products.
- Complete sales contracts and forms.
- Collect receivables.
- Promote products at trade shows and conferences.
- Maintain a high level of technical expertise.
- Regulate credit sales.
- Provide excellent customer service.
- Drive a company vehicle (required).
- Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree is preferred.
- One year of related work experience is required.
- Sales experience, especially agriculture, is highly preferred.
- Recent college graduates with intern experience will also be considered.
Skills & Qualifications
- Certified Crop Advisor License is preferred.
- Working knowledge of fertilizer formulating is preferred.
- Working knowledge of agricultural precision information technology is preferred.
- Travel by various means up to 25% of the time is required.
- Ability to read, write, and speak in English is required.
- Communicating in Spanish is a valuable skill at Helena.
- A valid U.S. driver's license is required to drive a company vehicle.
- Computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office are required.
Work Environment and Physical Aspects of the Job
- The work environment for this position will be in an office setting and outdoors in all types of weather conditions with exposure to outdoor elements.
- You may be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, chemical and biological hazards, vibrations, and a risk of electrical shock.
- This position requires you to use your hands for many different tasks and to talk, hear, walk, stand, sit, stand (8 hours a day or more), lift, carry, push or pull (up to and including 50lbs or more), reach overhead (up to and including 25lbs), climb, grip, grasp, twist using hands and wrists, bend, stoop for long periods of time, work below knee levels for short periods of time, and work above shoulder level for short periods.
