Sales Representative

Responsibilities
- Establish, develop, and maintain customer relationships that generate new business and strengthen satisfaction with the service provided.
- Plan and complete regular sales calls across assigned accounts and territory.
- Analyze current and historical sales activity to identify opportunities and meet or exceed monthly sales quotas and product placement objectives.
- Recommend and create customer programs using strong knowledge of the supplier portfolio.
- Understand customer needs, goals, interests, and ability to purchase, then apply company selling processes and policies to move opportunities forward.
- Provide first-line customer support, document interactions, and help resolve concerns that may lead to dissatisfaction.
- Enter orders accurately and maintain day-to-day sales information in the designated sales system.
- Use product assortment and performance information to support space planning, visual presentation, and point-of-sale materials.
- Prepare and present sales reports and quota results in team or division meetings.
- Participate in account evaluations, proposals, presentations, sales projects, and other sales-related activities.
- Stay informed about marketplace and product trends and communicate relevant insights to customers.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, plus six months to two years of sales experience.
- Valid state motor vehicle operator's license.
- Ability to secure and maintain a State Sales Permit in accordance with state law; must be 21 years of age or older.
- Ability to maintain automobile liability coverage of at least $100,000/$300,000 and $50,000 in property damage coverage, along with rental insurance and coverage for business use.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, and/or weekends. Early start times may range from 4:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m.
- Ability to travel overnight as required and participate in business meetings, company initiatives, and events upon request.
- Ability to calculate commissions, percentages, rates, ratios, and common sales measures, and to review comparative sales data and interpret bar graphs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of the beer industry, including major issues and regulatory considerations.
- Knowledge of account management practices, tools, and customer and supplier support.
- Understanding of marketplace developments and industry trends and how they support organizational goals.
- Ability to understand different customer types and evaluate customer activities, profiles, and information.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to move between work sites and use a computer, keyboard, mouse, monitor, or adding machine for considerable periods.
- Regular bending, reaching, standing, stooping, lifting, lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 45 pounds.
