About the Role
The primary responsibility of the Sales Representative is to drive business development within the assigned territory, serving as a company representative and client agent to ensure premium products and high customer satisfaction in a profitable manner. The Sales Rep owns every aspect of jobs/projects/rentals, from identifying opportunities and quoting to execution and profitability.
Responsibilities
- Develop expertise in the company’s products and services.
- Respond immediately to customer inquiries, issues, and concerns via phone, email, or in person.
- Prepare and submit a weekly schedule to the Sales Manager outlining planned activities.
- Maintain and update the CRM with detailed call reports and follow-ups.
- Generate leads by scouring the territory, monitoring bid specifications, cold-calling prospects, and nurturing long-term client relationships.
- Attend pre-bid meetings, client office visits, and job site inspections prior to bidding.
- Address customer issues on active projects promptly, coordinating resources as needed.
- Research, analyze, and report sales and marketing data for the assigned territory.
- Assist in developing and expanding the customer base.
- Create and execute quarterly business plans to meet objectives.
- Plan and coordinate special events and industry functions to promote the company.
- Ensure adherence to safety programs on all projects.
- Secure change orders for work outside the original scope, utilizing company resources.
- Assist in collections to ensure outstanding receivables are resolved.
- Conduct strategic and operational sales planning and management activities.
- Prepare performance reports for the territory and accounts.
- Submit quotations and reports to senior management and customer representatives.
- Evaluate financial and sales data, preparing analyses and reports.
- Prepare invoices, financial reports, and sales analyses to support territorial goals.

Requirements
- Associate’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- Experience in construction equipment rental, sales, manufacturing, or managing construction projects.
- Planning and organizational skills to handle multiple projects.
- Proficiency in PC software applications.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to read schematics, blueprints, or technical manuals.
- Knowledge of budgeting, cost estimating, and bidding procedures.
- Skills in workflow analysis and management.
- Understanding of contract documents and specifications.
